9 mm Blade
Bjaf 9 mm Blade 🐶✂️
The teddy bear length – full, soft and still unmistakably a haircut.
9 mm is where a clip stops looking like a clip and starts looking like a style. It leaves enough coat behind for that round, plush teddy bear finish, while still taking off the weight, the tangles and the density that make brushing a chore. 🧸
Because you are clipping directly with the blade, that fuller length comes out even across the body instead of stepped and patchy. It is the difference between a dog who has been tidied and a dog who has been groomed.
Is 9 mm right for your dog? 🤔
Choose 9 mm when you want the coat kept, not removed.
- The soft, rounded teddy bear look on body and legs 🧸
- Dogs who look bare and skinny the moment the coat comes off
- Autumn and winter, when a little more coat is a kindness ❄️
- Thick or curly coats that still need thinning out, just not taking down
- Owners who love the fluffy look but not the daily mat-hunting
At this length the coat needs to be brushed through properly first – a longer blade cannot cut cleanly through knots. Ten minutes with a brush, and the clipper does the rest. 🪮
Why a longer blade beats comb attachments ✂️
Instead of clipping with a plastic comb attachment, you clip directly with a blade that cuts at 9 mm. It is more precise, it glides better through the coat, and it gives an even result every single time.
- More precise clipping – a longer blade gives a consistent finish, where comb attachments often hop across the coat and leave uneven lengths.
- Faster clipping – it takes markedly less time, because the blade takes more coat at once.
- Less resistance – the blade slides easily through even dense, curly coat, which reduces pulling on the skin.
- More safety – comb attachments can slip, which leads to nicks and uneven patches. With a fixed blade you stay in control.
- A professional finish – longer blades are what professional groomers reach for. Also at home, also as a beginner. 🏡
Fits your Bjaf Dog Clipper Pro™ 🔧
- Cutting length: 9 mm
- Compatible with the Bjaf Dog Clipper Pro™
- Part of the Bjaf blade range: 3 mm, 6 mm, 9 mm and 12 mm
- Clipper oil is sold separately and we always recommend keeping the blade well oiled 💧
Important to know! The comb attachments included with the clipper only fit the 1.5 mm blade that came with it. They cannot be used together with the longer blades. 🙌
How to fit it 🐾
- Switch the clipper off before you touch the blade. Always. 🔌
- Release the blade that is on the clipper and lift it away from the head.
- Seat the 9 mm blade on the clipper head and press gently until it sits firmly and straight.
- Add a drop or two of clipper oil along the teeth, run the clipper for a few seconds, and wipe off what is left.
- Brush the coat through before you start, and let the blade lie flat against the body as you work with the lay of the coat.
Care and oiling 💧
- Brush the loose hair out of the teeth after every session.
- Oil the blade before you start, and again during longer grooms.
- Let the blade cool if it gets warm, and check the temperature against your own wrist now and then.
- Store it dry, clean and somewhere it cannot knock against other metal.
